Brandon and I have been trying to perfect this system, and I think we've got it. For those of you who are familiar with EVE online, it would work similar to their Corp system. Players will start out as civilians under whichever house they choose. To participate in PvP they have to join a combat faction; either player run or one run by admins. An example: A famous hero and soldier, Hayzen, decides that the Medistarian military is fighting it's wars wrong, and too carefully. He gathers a few of his closest allies and forms a Medistarian nationalist group. They go in to kill targets that the military finds too risky, and form a vigilante style group within their cities walls.
This group would be entirely player made, player governed, and player fought. Now, the term "faction" has brought some complaints as it doesn't set the mood correctly. Is everyone OK with the term "faction", or should we try something more traditional? "Guild" is a possible term, however, I feel that it might be a bit cliche. I'll put it up to vote.

Seems I can't modify the poll once it's been posted, however, another idea came to me. Each house could have a different "faction" system. Donvar would have communes, Dragoste; tribes, Medistare could have militias, and Toren's would be fleets. Thoughts?

It works for what we need, I don't see any real reason to change it
